Die Fügewerkzeuge müssen ein reproduzierbares Aufnehmen und Ablegen der Bauteile ermöglichen. Das Greifen und Spannen des Bauteils darf nicht zu Bauteilverformungen führen.
Zum Positionieren der Bauteile in der Karosserie muss die aufgebrachte Klebstoffraupe verpresst werden. Die Einleitung der dafür erforderlichen Kräfte über das Fügewerkzeug muss in unmittelbarer Nähe der Klebenaht erfolgen, um Spannungen und Verformungen im Bauteil möglichst gering zu halten.
Die Verpresskräfte, siehe Kap. 5.1.8, dürfen nicht zu einer Verformung des Fügewerkzeugs bzw. des Bauteils führen.
