The joint initiative, ‘AusBILDUNG wird was – Spätstarter gesucht’ (‘Education makes you someone – late
starters wanted’) launched by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the Federal
Employment Agency in February 2013 has been continued under the current government. The goal is to
give a second chance to obtain a vocational qualification between 2013 and 2015 to 100,000 young
adults in the 25-34 age group who lack such a qualification and come under the systems governed by
Book II and Book III of the Social Code (SGB II and SGB III).
