Product Safety Act
Only products that meet various safety and other requirements may be marketed and sold in Germany.
This is governed by the Product Safety Act (Produktsicherheitsgesetz) and its subordinate ordinances,
and applies both to consumer goods and to products used by employees in the workplace. The Act also

Not all hazards and sources of danger can
be eliminated or avoided by technical or
organisational means. There will always be
hazards in any workplace. This places you
as an employee under an obligation to be
safety-conscious and support your
employer with regard to safety precautions.
Accident prevention regulations too include
rules on conduct for all employees who use
tools, plant and equipment. As an
employee, you are also required to observe
rules of conduct specifically devised by
your employer for your workplace. In case
of health problems in the workplace you
have the right to preventive occupational
healthcare.
